They pursue this by providing financial solutions and training, empowering people living in poverty to transform their lives, their children’s futures and their communities.

Habitat for Humanity

habitat-for-humanity-logo2Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Habitat builds and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods. STA Group volunteered in the effort to build new homes twice in 2013, and has plans to do more in 2014.

Greater Chicago Food Depository

greater-chicago-food-depository-logoThe Food Depository, founded in 1979, makes a daily impact across Cook County with a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs, children’s programs, older adult programs and innovative responses that address the root causes of hunger. Last year, the Food Depository distributed 66 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 150,000 meals every day.  STA Group volunteers to help pack boxes, unload and reload food, etc.

Loaves & Fishes

loaves-and-fishes-logoLoaves & Fishes, located in Naperville, IL, has provided Client Choice grocery services and Pathways to Empowerment programs to Naperville and DuPage County residents since 1984. Their mission is to provide food and leadership in the community by uniting and mobilizing resources to empower people to be self-sufficient. It’s been our joy to help with the sorting of food and prepping the pantry this year.
